OSHA Recordkeeping Specialist (ORS)
Course Overview
In this course, the student will gain an understanding
of the revised recordkeeping regulations, learn to use the 300, 300A, and 301 forms,
distinguish between first aid and medical services, recognize the differences
in coverage for contractors and temporary employees, and understand employee
privacy rights. The time needed to complete the course depends on your prior
knowledge of workplace safety, but the average completion time is around 13
hours. You have up to six months to finish the course.
Course Modules
· Explain the importance of precise and complete recordkeeping in fostering a successful safety program.
· Using the specified criteria, assess whether an injury or illness is
work-related, recordable, and determine the correct category for documentation.
· Identify which businesses and employers are mandated to record work-related
injuries and illnesses, for submission to both OSHA and BLS when necessary.
· Follow OSHA's reporting regulations in cases of fatalities, hospitalizations,
amputations, and loss of eyesight.
· Properly complete the necessary OSHA Recordkeeping Forms (300, 300A, and 301)
for their workplace.
