Course Overview
The 40-Hour HAZWOPER course is a comprehensive
safety training program developed under the OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120.
It is designed for workers involved in cleanup operations, emergency response,
and voluntary handling of hazardous substances at uncontrolled hazardous waste
sites or treatment, storage, and disposal facilities. This course equips
participants with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize, evaluate, and
control hazards associated with chemical exposure and environmental
contamination. It covers both theoretical instruction and practical, hands-on
exercises to ensure worker competency in hazardous environments.
This training is mandatory for general site workers
and supervisors engaged in hazardous waste operations where exposure to
hazardous substances is possible.
